2025 Yellow Trailblazer offroading

The Chevrolet Trailblazer is an excellent subcompact SUV known for its eye-catching exterior styling, luxurious cabin, and performance-enhancement features. Despite stiff competition from the likes of the Subaru Crosstrek, Ford Bronco Sport, and Kia Seltos, this model still holds its own, attracting discerning buyers from all backgrounds. The new Trailblazer offers a few updates to elevate its performance while retaining many of the features we love in the current model. Join us as we explore the 2025 Trailblazer's upgrades and discover how it stacks up against the 2024 version.

Exterior Design and Styling

The Trailblazer's previous model year ushered in various tweaks and upgrades to its exterior styling. The new 2025 model has carried over most of these exterior design elements, adopting the sporty look of its predecessor, including a distinct mesh grille and dual-exhaust outlets.

The 2024 Trailblazer also introduced four new paint colors:

  • Fountain Blue.
  • Nitro Yellow Metallic.
  • Iridescent Pearl Tricoat.
  • Sterling Gray Metallic.

While most of these colors have been rolled over to the 2025 model year, the 2025 Trailblazer has introduced a new hue called Marina Blue Metallic to replace Fountain Blue.

Interior Features and Comfort

The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer also saw a slew of updates to its interior, which have been retained in the 2025 edition. While the interior features primarily black plastic, its sleek design gives the cabin a premium look and feel. Higher trims also have chrome accents and luxurious touches that further enhance their appearance.

The 2025 RS trim has additional interior and comfort features, such as a flat-bottom steering wheel and red interior accents, giving it a sporty look. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-range ACTIV trim offers a heated steering wheel, Evotex seats, and heated front seats to elevate the cabin experience. A power-adjustable driver seat is also available on the two higher-end models, enhancing driver comfort and convenience.

Performance and Powertrain

Like its predecessor, the 2025 Trailblazer offers two engine options. The base powerplant is a 1.2-liter ECOTEC three-cylinder engine that generates 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. This engine, which comes standard on the LS and LT trim, is paired with a continuously variable transmission and a front-wheel drivetrain. In terms of fuel efficiency, this engine gets EPA estimates of 30 mpg for city driving, 31 mpg on the highway, and 30 mpg combined.

The other option for the 2025 Trailblazer is a 1.3-liter ECOTEC turbocharged engine that cranks out 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. This powerplant, standard on the RS and ACTIV trims, is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission system and is available with front- and all-wheel-drive configurations. The front-wheel-drive version offers slightly better fuel economy, boasting 29, 33, and 31 mpg EPA ratings for city, highway, and combined driving, respectively. On the other hand, the all-wheel drivetrain achieves up to 26 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg combined.

The 2025 Trailblazer performs as well as its predecessor on the road, if not better. Both sprint from zero to 60 mph in about 9 seconds when equipped with the 1.3-liter turbocharged engine, which is pretty standard in its class. The high-end ACTIV trim also comes with performance-tuned dampers, contributing to smoother ride quality.

Technology and Safety Features

The 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer has kept the infotainment and tech features from the 2024 update. The most significant of its interior upgrades is the larger 11-inch infotainment touch-screen display that provides intuitive access to all your communication, entertainment, and navigation apps and features. Also available is an 8-inch diagonal driver information screen that provides real-time data and alerts about the vehicle's performance. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is standard across all trims, ensuring seamless connectivity with your smartphone. Other notable features include a wireless hotspot, SiriusXM, and a single-zone climate control system.

There's been little change to the safety features of the Trailblazer. The 2025 model maintains the same advanced driver-assistance and safety tech available on its predecessor. Some standard features include forward collision alert with auto emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, and auto high beams assist. You can choose to add optional features, including rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, and rear park assist, for even more protection on the road.

Pricing and Trim Levels

The 2025 Trailblazer has also kept the same trim lineup as the previous model year. The LS is the base trim and an excellent choice if you're looking for a stylish, modern SUV without breaking the bank. The LS has a starting MSRP of $23,100.

The LT trim may be ideal if you're looking for additional features, such as keyless start and roof rails, for a slight price increase. It has an MSRP of $24,300.

The two high-end trims, RS and ACTIV, are a match when it comes to pricing, with both starting at about $27,700. Each model offers similar features, including premium leather upholstery and heated front seats. The only significant difference is that the ACTIV is tweaked for off-road performance on all terrains, while the RS is optimized for sporty performance on asphalt roads.
