Standard Safety Features

The 2024 Silverado comes with a plethora of standard features for a safer driving experience. These include six air bags, a tire pressure monitoring system, and daytime running lamps. You can also expect the following:

Super Cruise

Super Cruise is a driver-assistance technology that allows you to drive hands-free on more than 400,000 miles of compatible roads. It makes use of GPS technology and data as well as cameras and the vehicle's adaptive cruise control system for an enhanced driving experience. This is available on the High Country trim and requires an OnStar subscription.

Infotainment Technology

The technology in the 2024 Silverado largely depends on the trim and options you choose. For instance, the lower trim levels — specifically the WT, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss — are equipped with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, which includes a 7-inch color touch screen and a 3.5-inch monochrome driver information display. A six-speaker sound system is also standard on all trims except the LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

The LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2 trims come with the premium Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, the centerpiece of which is a larger, 13.4-inch touch screen with a multi-touch display and Google built-in. These also have a more advanced driver information center, featuring a 12.3-inch color display. Wireless charging and a seven-speaker Bose premium sound system are also standard on the LTZ, ZR2, and High Country trims. Despite the differences, there are features that can be found across all trims, such as:

  • Bluetooth audio streaming.
  • Voice command.
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
  • SiriusXM satellite radio.
  • Wi-Fi hotspot capability.

OnStar and Chevrolet Connected Services

The 2024 Silverado is equipped with the appropriate hardware and software to enable OnStar and Chevrolet Connected Services. OnStar is subscription-based and provides a wide range of services, including emergency and roadside assistance, automatic crash response, turn-by-turn navigation, and remote vehicle diagnostics. It also enhances the vehicle's safety and security through features such as stolen vehicle assistance and remote vehicle access.

Chevrolet Connected Services works with OnStar to provide drivers with better access to and control of their vehicle. Subscribers can take advantage of features such as:

  • Family Link: View the location of vehicles included in the account and receive alerts when these arrive or leave a pre-defined location.
  • Guardian skill for Amazon Alexa: Use Alexa to remotely start or stop the engine and lock or unlock the doors.
  • Remote key fob: Control certain vehicle functions from your smartphone through the myChevrolet mobile app.
  • Unlimited data: Connect up to seven devices to the 4G LTE connection via the Wi-Fi hotspot.
  • Connected Navigation: Gain access to real-time traffic data and other helpful updates through the vehicle's touch-screen display.

Towing Technology

The towing capacity of the 2024 Silverado makes it a very capable truck, with a maximum trailering rating of 13,300 pounds. It's equipped with various technologies that make towing easier, safer, and more efficient. One of these is trailer sway control, which uses sensors to detect sway automatically and apply brake pressure for stability. Other standard and available technologies that may help with towing include:

  • An auxiliary trailer camera.
  • A trailer brake controller that works with the anti-lock braking system.
  • A trailering app that's accessible via the infotainment system.
  • A hitch guidance feature that aids in aligning the Silverado with a trailer hitch.
  • A rear vision and bed view camera.
