The full lineup will be available in the spring of 2024. With an estimated MSRP starting at around $30,000, the Equinox EV is worth a closer look. Read on to find out more about this new addition to Chevrolet’s EV lineup.
Trim Levels
The Chevrolet Equinox EV will be available in five different trim levels. The 2RS will enter the market in the fall of 2023. It's equipped with 20-inch dark aero wheels, available four-wheel drive, and a black-painted grille panel, while the lower fascia gives the compact SUV a sporty look. The 2RS comes with a heated flat-bottom steering wheel, designed to keep you warm even in the cold winter in Red Lion, Pennsylvania.
Trim levels 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, and 3RS will become available in the spring of 2024. The estimated range for the 1LT on a full charge is about 250 miles. This model includes an 11.5 kW onboard charge and an 11-inch driver information center and display screen.
The 2LT includes a heated steering wheel, mirror, and front seats. The front features an LED light bar, and you can upgrade this trim level with advanced safety features. The 3LT offers additional features, such as reverse automatic braking, 21-inch aluminum wheels, heated front and rear outboard seats, and ventilated front seats. For this trim level, Chevrolet upgrades the touch screen to a 17.7-inch display.
The 3RS trim level runs on 21-inch dark aero wheels, much like the 2RS. With this model, you have the option to include Super Cruise driver assistance technology and a 19.2 kW Level 2 charging module.
Engine
With an estimated range of 300 miles for all trim levels except the 1LT, you don't have to worry about charging your car even on longer trips. If you plug into one of the on-the-go DC Fast Charge stations nationwide, you can drive the Equinox EV for about 70 miles after only 10 minutes of battery charging. The battery comes with a limited eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty.
The Equinox EV performs impressively with near-instant torque, allowing you to accelerate quickly. Driving an electric car has never been more fun, and you can get to 60 mph in the space of six seconds. Chevrolet estimates it'll have 290 horsepower and up to 1,500 pounds of towing capacity.
You’ll find it easy to charge the Equinox EV, as it directs you to the nearest public charging station with the Energy Assist App. There are over 40,000 public charging locations, and your vehicle will help you plan the most efficient route to keep its battery powered on the go. When you charge the Equinox EV at home with standard 11.5 kW Level 2 charging, you can increase your range by about 34 miles for every hour of charge.
Safety
Chevrolet takes your safety seriously and equips every Equinox EV with Chevy Safety Assist. This feature includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alerts, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beam adjustments. The vehicle also includes reverse automatic braking, which can help you avoid collisions when objects or vehicles are directly behind you.
Exterior Design
The Equinox EV has a clean exterior design, giving the vehicle a sporty look. The sleek lines along the exterior of the car, the front and rear lighting animations, and the flush door handles add style to this powerful electric SUV. You can choose from eight different exterior colors, including Summit White, Black, Radiant Red Metallic, and Riptide Blue Metallic Summit White.
Interior Space
Inside the Equinox EV, the color is Sky Cool Gray, and it’s equipped with ambient lighting. A roomy interior with multiple storage locations ensures you don't need to search for your drink or sunglasses, as everything’s at your fingertips. The upgrade options of heated seats and steering wheel allow for maximum comfort even on cold winter days in Red Lion, Pennsylvania.
This modern SUV provides seating for up to five people. This also includes 57.2 cubic feet of cargo space with a dual-height cargo floor. The seats in the rear fold down easily for additional storage space. This vehicle is perfect for a family vacation, but you can also take it on an extended camping trip and pack all the necessary gear comfortably.
Technology
When you're settling in for a long road trip, you'll enjoy the Super Cruise feature available in the Chevrolet Equinox EV. This new technology allows for hands-free driving on 400,000 miles of compatible roads in the United States and Canada. This state-of-the-art driver assistance technology controls your speed and following distance. It also keeps the vehicle on the road in the lane and is as close as you can get to a self-driving car while still maintaining control of the vehicle and monitoring the road.
The Chevrolet Equinox EV makes it easy to start up your car. The vehicle can sense your presence and will start up on its own if you have your key fob with you. There's no need to press the start button. Instead, you just shift into drive and go where the road takes you.
Other optional technology upgrades include wireless charging for compatible devices and software updates for your vehicle as they become available. Wireless charging ensures you never have to worry about draining your cell phone battery. Customized software updates ensure that your Equinox EV continues functioning the way you expect, delivering the newest features technology has to offer.
